The Zimbabwe Exemption Permit which was established in 2009 and allowed Zimbabwean nationals to regularise their ability to live and work in South Africa will be coming to an end in December this year, that’s if pending court challenges are unsuccessful.

The expiry of these permits is expected to affect about 182,000 Zimbabweans who have legally built their lives in the country over the last decade. So how will this affect their lives and the people around them? And what plans should they be making?
