In this week’s edition of Gateway to Africa we focus on the just ended 6th edition of Hotelier Summit Africa held in Johannesburg. Rabi Kumar, the director of IDE which is organizing the conference tells us what it is about, who is in attendance and the future of the industry. We also have Mark Martinovich, CEO of Hotel Partners Africa and Hotel Spec who says although the industry is developing there are a number of challenges that need to be tackled.
Also in the programme, ahead of the annual Tourism Indaba in Durban Bongani Mthiyane, marketing manager of Kwazulu Natal Tourism tells us about how the coastal province has benefitted from hosting the event over the last 36 years. And on tapestry we feature young and budding South African music vocalist Hendrick Itumeleng Monyeki. He has two songs to his name, although not yet a recording artist as yet. In addition he has shared stage with some big name jazz musicians both from South Africa and abroad.
