When I see a long screed about how people are using a term or concept incorrectly, I wonder what that post says about the person who wrote it. Chances are it doesn't say anything kind. Pedantry has long been used as a form of gatekeeping in the technical world and beyond, and whether or not you intended it that way doesn't matter. Exercise some empathy and keep your "well, actually" to yourself.
