BIOTIC COSMIC A life long interest in astrophotography and space exploration has informed Pamela Bain's latest body of work.  Responding to the uncanny resemblance of microbiology to outer space imagery BIOTIC COSMOS speaks to the observation that we and the universe share mutual composition and thus, connects us all.  This creative direction also relates to one's location within space both near and far.  Overall, the space scape thematic provides an interface for meditation and potential for philosophical reflection: a contemplative space in which to consider relationships with ones environment, one's self and the universe.

MAPOLOGY MELBOURNE Observing the ongoing movement and expansion over time of streets scapes, public transport lines and boundary curvatures inherent in cartographic records, Pam reflects this in her map paintings by investing them with an organic sensibility. Pam reinterprets maps as living formations: organisms that live, breathe and thrive. much the same as cities of people do.

MAPOLOGY ST VINCENT’S HOSPITAL A Melbourne project that injects a sense of life into the stiff rectangular slabs that make up the hospital's physical layout and also to the inner Fitzroy precinct that houses the medical centre which is bordered by Victoria Parade and Brunswick, Nicholson and Gertrude Streets. This body of work has been under development since early 2012 and evolved from her time as Artist in Residence with the hospital.
