The Minxiong Ghost House among Taiwan’s four big haunted houses and it was voted one of Taiwan’s most haunted places in an online poll this year. It certainly looks the part. The old brick mansion sits abandoned in a patch of forest. It’s an eerie shell, wrapped in a dense web of roots and branches, more tree than building in some places. But where does this building’s spooky reputation actually come from? If anyone knows the answer, it’s probably Mr. Hsu. He’s run a cafe next to the abandoned mansion for a number of years now. In addition to answering questions about the gloomy ruins next door, he also take visitors inside from time to time. He joins us today for a look at the ghost house’s murky story.
