One of Taiwan’s greatest spots for tourism lies not on Taiwan itself but a ways offshore, in the middle of the Taiwan Strait. Penghu is a cluster of islands administered from Taiwan but with a laidback pace and maritime feel that are all its own. These islands have a lot to offer travelers looking for some sunshine and a nice ocean breeze. There are perfect beaches, places to snorkel and fish, and once all that’s left you hungry, plenty of distinctive local foods to try. Here to tell us about the islands and their special charm is Chen Mei-ling of the Penghu County tourism bureau.
