Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen won the re-election as president of Taiwan in  January 11th presidential election. She won a landslide victory garnering around 8.17 million votes. Her opponent of the KMT, Han Kuo-yu won about 5.5 million votes. On the part of the legislative elections held on the same day with the presidential election on January 11th, the ruling DPP won 48 of the 73 directly elected seats and 13 at-large seats, having gained 33.9 % of the political party vote. Meanwhile, the major opposition KMT won 25 directly elected seats and 13 at-large seats winning 33.3 % of the party vote.President Tsai Ying-wen of the DPP won 57% of the votes for the president, but for the voting of the political party, it only gained 33.9% of the political party vote and the KMT won 33.3 % of the party vote.
