As you may assume from Part 1 of this series, I found the antithesis of justification. What I did learn, however, is that the history of food exemplifies our abilities as a species to create, adapt and thrive in almost any food environment.

What we need to question, as a culture, is the recurring fear of food—and the stories we create to justify it—that’s accompanied each sweeping dietary change for the last 150 years. All of these fears have turned out to be unfounded, including the ones used to defend Paleo food selection.
