WQXR has curated the perfect soundtrack for the back-to-school season, helping kids, parents, and everyone involved get into the rhythm of the school year. From September 2-8, tune in for a week filled with special school-themed features and compositions by young musical prodigies. You'll hear from classical greats like Mozart and the Mendelssohns, who started their careers at a young age, as well as fresh new works by the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers.

Featured Series: Once Upon a ComposerEach Saturday morning at 10 am, we’re excited to introduce a brand-new musical moment designed for kids and families: Once Upon a Composer. Hosted by the fabulous flutist and WQXR’s Young Artists Showcase presenter, Emi Ferguson, this series brings to life the true stories of famous composers. Each episode will feature a captivating tale introducing you to a new composer, followed by a selection of the composer’s music, offering a delightful and educational experience for young listeners.
