“The New Intolerance” was a four-part series of panel discussions built as a joint venture between the Columbia School for the Arts: Writing Division and the PEN American Center. On February 25th 1998, a panel of five - made up of artists, writers and a human rights lawyer, opens the final installment of the series with a conversation regarding intolerance in "the Arts," through personal reflections and discuss who’s right (if any) it is to censor art and literature, and how the cultural climate changes the rules throughout history.
