Michael Afshar is the Head of Corporate Development & Platform Solutions at GlobalWonks. Afshar was most recently developing the US Client Solutions team at a well-known global knowledge platform. As Head of Corporate Development, Michael weaves together GlobalWonks business development, investor relations, and organizational growth functions.
Prior to his time in the knowledge industry, he helped oversee a Value/GARP centric portfolio with combined assets over five billion dollars. Subsequently, he went on to collaborate with two other equity partners to establish the US office of a UK-based broker dealer. As former buy-siders, the firm created a differentiated research approach to exploit inefficiencies in sell-side research business models. The firm was acquired in 2016.
Michael holds a master's in Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and completed his bachelor's in Biology from the College of Arts and Sciences at American University.
