Cultures around the world have turned to music during trying times in order to strengthen the spirit, relay messages, and foster a greater sense of community; in particular, around the world since the recorded advent of recorded music, the song of the African-American has been a torchbearer, in this sense; whether it be the Blues, Soul music, or Jazz, the legacy runs deep. As the world turns in the year 2020, working-class people across the world are making their voices heard; they are tired of being exploited, tired of being lied to, and fighting back against the oppression of all forms. This edition of Dedication is 90mins of song, poem, and soundbites, highlighting the Black American experience as we continue to hold strong and push forward as members of the global struggle for freedom, peace, & justice.
