Dedication is show devoted to highlighting and paying homage to the Black American Classical art form most commonly known as “Jazz”, in all of it’s various styles. In our eyes, Jazz, is not a thing of the past but a gateway into human consciousness. While it may not be the cash-cow it was in the 40’s & 50’s, we understand that marketing trends do not determine the worth of our cultural creations nor should they dictate how we go about studying our history. In the course of each hour long episode many musical directions may be presented, past and present, but all with a feeling of cohesion. From bop to post-bop, modal to bossa-nova, fusion to the avant garde; an effort will be made to showcase beautiful music and hopefully provide context for those who dig deep or may just be starting off on their journey.
