This podcast celebrates the fifth anniversary of the launch of StoryCorps' national mobile tour. We'll hear three stories recorded in Washington D.C. on the opening day of the mobile tour back in 2005.

The first story comes from two South Buffalo natives—the late journalist, Tim Russert, and his friend James T. Malloy, a second generation firefighter, and a former doorkeeper of the House of Representatives.

Next, we'll hear Virginia Ali tell her sons sons, Nizam and Kahmal, about opening their family’s legendary restaurant in Washington D.C., Ben's Chilli Bowl.

Our third and final story comes from 12-year-old Ezra Awumey and his grandfather, Sam Harmon.
