Orlando Pirates is the only South African team that returned with something tangible from the CAF interclub duties this past weekend. But even their best was not enough as they were held to a goalless draw by Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum during a first CAF Champions League group stages game to the Babourfields in Bulawayo on Saturday. Playing in front of a passionate crowd filled with the famous black and white colours, Pirates missed a couple of scoring opportunities but also didn’t go all out in this game. Bucs head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic was not disappointed with the result. With the other teams in Group B, defending champions Esperance having played to a hard fought one-all draw against Horoya on Friday night, Bucs were hoping to take an early lead in the group. But Bucs captain Happy Jele says they knew what was at stake in this game.
