The Confederation of African Football (CAF) bosses have confirmed that next year’s African Nations Cup tournament will be held in Cameroon as planned and nowhere else. This settles the debate about the AFCON 2019 being possibly taken away from the central African country. Concerns that Cameroon would be overwhelmed by organising an expanded 24-team tournament saw possible replacements being hyped as either South Africa or Morocco. But following CAF’s third inspection of Cameroon’s preparedness which ended yesterday, CAF Vice-President Amaju Pinnick was left satisfied with the progress made so far.
