Two former top international match officials Jerome Damon and Enoch Molefe could be inline for the SAFA Head of Referees position, which could soon become vacant. The current HOD of referees Peter Sejake has been suspended on allegations of corruption involving ABC Motsepe national play-offs. Following the sudden passing of Ian McLeod, another respected former international referee who was an Acting HOD, SAFA is under pressure to fill this role. SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble confirmed that they are in the process of restructuring their refereeing department.
