Supersport United Chief Executive Officer Stan Matthews is appealing for a fair officiating for the CAF Confederations cup final later this month. Matsatsantsa will tackle defending champions TP Mazembe from Democratic Republic of Congo for the coveted title in a two-legged final on the 17th and the 25th of this month. Matsatsantsa conceded two controversial penalties on both legs in their semi-final win over Club Africain from Tunisia, something that Matthews was not happy about. Supersport reached their first continental final after many attempts. They scored 33 goals and only conceding 16 in the whole competition since the preliminary round. They are the second South African team to reach the Confed cup final after Orlando Pirates lost to Etoile du Sahel two years ago. Matthews says it’s a proud moment for the team to achieve the feat.
