Amajimbos had a great start to the COSAFA U17 championships in Mauritius today beating Mozambique 3-1 in the opening game played in Port Louis. A brace from Mohammed Shahabodien and a goal from James McFarlene were enough to secure the result for the South African U17 national team. There are eight teams in this tournament and the top two teams in the group proceed to the semi-finals. Head coach Molefi Ntseki was impressed by his young team. Amajimbos’ true test will come on Sunday when they face their archrivals Zambia, the young Chipolopolo are Group A leaders after walloping Madagascar 7-1. Ntseki believes that his team will improve as the tournament progresses.
