Bafana Bafana international Anele Ngcongca has spent close to a decade in Europe, mainly playing for Belgian side RC Genk. But last week he made his debut in top flight football when he came on as a sub during the 6-0 drubbing that Mamelodi Sundowns meted out to Orlando Pirates at Loftus stadium, a game that was marred by spectators’ violence. During his time in Europe, Ngcongca also got to play both in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. He tells SABC Sport journalist Velile Mbuli, why this weekend’s CAF Super Cup game against DRC giants TP Mazembe is important to Pitso Mosimane’s team. Ngcongca also touches on Belgian coach Hugo Broos who recently won the AFCON with Cameroon and has applied for Bafana Bafana’s vacant coaching job.
