New Ajax Cape Town coach, Stanley Menzo has described their 3-2 win over Platinum Stars as important for his side as it could easily see the Urban Warriors back on their winning ways. A relieved Menzo, who picked up the win in his third game in charge since taking over as head coach from Roger De Sa, says that this is an important victory for the team, and they can now build on this result. He says they didn’t make things easy for themselves either, and could have wrapped up the game in the first half had they converted other chances, and they did struggle in the last fifteen minutes of the game.It was a proud day for young Shane Saralina, as the 2016 Bayhill Player of the tournament, made his PSL debut at left back. The Ajax academy graduate, who is equally adept at playing centre-back, was promoted to the first team at the beginning of the season, and Menzo says that Saralina gave a good account of himself, and while he is young and still has a lot to learn, his performance was a good foundation to build from.
