Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says he is now faced with a huge responsibility of ensuring that his players don’t become complacent following their impressive four-game winning streak. The eloquent former U/23 mentor was speaking ahead of their Telkom Knockout clash with Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium on Saturday night. Komphela says he will have to remain level-headed, focused and encourage them (players) not to be content. Amakhosi have already beaten the “Team of Choice” 2-0 in the same venue in their league encounter last month. Chiefs have also thrashed Highlands Park, Free State Stars and recently Ajax Cape Town. Komphela says he is happy with the level of team spirit in the camp. Chiefs is the most successful team in the Telkom Knockout having put 13 trophies in their cup cabinet. Komphela also took time to wish former Chiefs and Bafana-Bafana captain Neil Tovey a speedy recovery after he was admitted at the Durban hospital on Sunday with a second heart-attack fear. Influential Amakhosi midfielder George Lebese says this winning streak brings back the memories of Amakhosi lifting the MTN8 and the league title in the 2014/15 season under Stuart Baxter.
