The fairytale continues for John Comitis’ new PSL club Cape Town City, as Australian Matt Sim scored the only goal for the City Boyz, to knockout Kaizer Chiefs in an MTN8 quarter-final game at Cape Town Stadium on Friday night the 26th of August 2016. Sim’s goal came in the seventh minute of the match, and for most of the game Eric Tinkler’s City side, who also won their opening league game on Tuesday against Polokwane City, had to defend bravely against the more-fancied Amakhosi. Chiefs’ coach Steve Komphela said it was a very frustrating night for his team. Having lost their opening league game against Wits mid-week, and after a poor end to the season last time around for Chiefs, there has been a lot of talk of pressure building on Komphela, but he says that he is not willing to entertain that idea. In the club’s last 14 official matches, there’s been eight defeats for Chiefs, five draws and only one win. He says he just wants to focus on his job at hand, and not think about things off the field.
