South African football players who were hoping to use the newly introduced system of intermediaries in this current transfer window would have to wait a bit longer. A FIFA Congress two years ago in Brazil passed a resolution that last year in April the old system of agents should be replaced by the intermediaries system. Whilst many countries started with intermediaries in April last year, SAFA has been battling in courts with the local agents, the main problem was around the commission of agents that had been capped at three percent. South African Football Association (SAFA) CEO Dennis Mumble says they’ve since revisited that and rectified what the agents were asking for but can’t implement because there’s still a court case.
