Platinum Stars kept their hopes of a top three finish in the Absa Premiership alive with a well-deserved 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace last night the 2nd of May 2016. The victory for Stars ended a three-match winless streak in the league while Pirates suffered only their second defeat in their last five league outings. Stars coach Cavin Johnson that says his side defended well on the night against a very difficult team to track down with the ball and says he hopes that the football Gods will be on their side in the last three games in their quest to cement their place in the top three teams and automatically qualify for the Caf Confederation Cup.
