Cricket South Africa chief executive Haroon Lorgat yesterday, 29th March 2016, welcomed the Proteas with great disappointment upon their early arrival from the World T20 Cup following their round robin (group stages) exit. South Africa continued their poor run of form in world tournaments when they were eliminated with a game to spare in India after losing to the England and West Indies in their first three games. Asked where he thought things went south at the tournament, Proteas coach Russell Domingo refrained to put the blame on a specific aspects but highlights that in T20 cricket there are less margins for error. Titans stalwart, Faf Du Plessis says that failing to adapt to the conditions and game plan changes quickly on game-day was also a huge contributing factor to yet another Proteas downfall at a world tournament. But first, Lorgat also blasted the Proteas Women’s team, emphasizing that South Africa at large expected more from both sides.
