The Bidvest Wits camp continued to be ravaged by injuries and the latest victim is Bafana Bafana star player Sibusiso “General” Vilakazi. Speaking at the team’s training session this Wednesday morning, 02 march at Sturrock Park in Johannesburg, head coach Gavin Hunt lamented the amount of injuries the team is suffering from. Vilakazi’s injury follows closely after the long-term lay-offs that have just been suffered by Papy Faty and revelation of the season Phakamani Mahlambi. Vilakazi had scored the first goal during the 6-0 demolition of Seychelles’ Light Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup this past weekend. As the Students turn their focus to the Nedbank Cup last 32 encounter against the embattled Bloemfontein Celtic on Friday, 04 march, Hunt is paying very little attention to the administrative problems around the Free State side. Celtic beat Wits in the league in January and that’s the only win they've achieved under Serame Letsoaka in more than 10 matches.
