A key stakeholder in the development of the game of football in South Africa has started to sort out its house and the future looks bright for the aspiring coaches in the country. This emerged at the South African Football Coaches Association (SAFCA) technical symposium at Rand stadium on Friday. A total of 160 coaches from all the nine provinces attended this symposium that was organized by the SAFCA leadership that was appointed last year. Presenting on various topics were SAFCA’s Technical Advisor Ted Dumitru, SAFA President Danny Jordaan and his SAFCA counterpart Greg Mashilo. Coming out of this gathering it’s clear that this organization wants to fast track the coaching education from Local Football Associations, regional and provincial levels to have more qualified coaches who will in turn develop more quality talent in abundance. SAFCA’s Technical Head Simon Ngomane says the next step will be to hold a technical convention where the SA football philosophy will be detailed…

An advanced training concept for SAFA youth coaches comprising new and superior methods, including Maximal Training for Youth that have been developed and successfully tested in South Africa were presented by Zipho Dlangalala. The respected Mamelodi Sundowns youth coach outlines this programme…

The key note address came from Professor Manoel Neto from Brazil who has had a number of top local coaches as his students in the past including the likes of Ngomane, Dlangalala, Cavin Johnson and Farouk Khan just to count a few.
