Newly crowned National First Division champions Chippa United have been inspired by the performance and operations of Mpumalanga Black Aces in the Premier Soccer League this season. Chippa confirmed their immediate return to the PSL for next season following the indifferent results of the chasing pack this past weekend. Despite losing 3-1 to Witbank Spurs yesterday, their promotion was confirmed with four games to spare. This is Chippa’s second promotion to PSL within three years, they went up in July 2012 and were relegated he following year. After spending only season in the NFD, Mpengesi says he’s learnt his lesson…

After winning promotion last year Aces replaced their coach Jacob Sakala with the veteran coach Clive Barker who had just finished the season with Bidvest Wits at a respectable fourth position in the PSL. They also went on to sign quality players and Mpengesi believes that this is the way to go for his team too…
