Mamelodi Sundowns extended their league winning streak to eight matches when they beat Mpumalanga Black Aces 1-0 in an entertaining drama manifested encounter at Loftus last night. Elias Pelembe scored the only goal for the match when he beat Jackson Mabokgwane in the 8th minute with a scotching header just before the Aces goalkeeper was replaced by man of the match Bafana Nhlapo. Nevertheless the score-line was not something to write home about as both teams were guilty of missing numerous scoring opportunities, much to the disappointment of Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane who feels hard done by the missed opportunities…

Despite walking away with maximum points in 8 matches in a row, Mosimane still maintains that there is still a long way to go before Sundowns can win their first PSL title in 7 years…

Meanwhile his counterpart Clive ‘the dog’ Barker was forced to shuffle his winning squad due to the Sundowns loan agreement and he says this is not good for football, even so he still feels that they also deserved something…

The players that are on loan to Aces from Sundowns are Method Mwanjali, Themba Zwane and Abel Mabaso.

Aces have had great success against the big teams with wins over Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, and Moroka Swallows and they have earned themselves nickname “Giant killers”. But Barker says those wins count for nothing if the team can’t translate them into success as they want challenge for the league title next season...

Barker has also expressed concerns over his goal scoring machine Zimbabwean international Tendai Ndoro, admitting that he might not be there next season as many teams have expressed their interest...
