As Mozambique leave the African Nations Championship without a win from their three matches, coach Joao Chissano believes that his team will emerge stronger and better from the tournament after their 2-1 loss to Mali at the Athlone Stadium. Mozambique lost two of their three matches and drew one……

Mali coach Djibril Drame said he was happy with the fact that his team were able to come from behind in their 2-1 win over Mozambique and managed to finish at the top of Group A with two wins and a draw. Drame emphasized the fact that his team were finally able to overcome weaker opposition to them, a problem that had dogged Malian football for a long time having previously lost to teams they should not be losing to……..

While many believe that the ultimate winners of the tournament will come out of Group A, Drame said that it was important for his team and Nigeria to perform on the field of play rather than listen to talk of them being amongst the favourites to lift the trophy. Drame though acknowledged that Group A was probably the toughest in the tournament…….
