Climate engineer William Gagnon is a resident of Yellowknife, the capital of Canada’s Northwest Territories. This week, the entire population of his city was ordered to evacuate due to wildfire danger. Gagnon tells The World’s Carol Hills that although he’s studied climate change for more than a decade, he’s astonished by the speed of the fires approaching his city.
