When the Mughals swept into India in the 1500s, they often erected their mosques on Hindu temple sites. More than 500 years later, right-wing Hindu are claiming that they are the rightful owners. To whom the sites belong have now become more flash points between Hindus and Muslims, which have grown since Hindu nationalists have dominated Indian politics.
