Since we have limited space on our float planes we have to maximize the amount of space that we use when packing and the best way to do that with clothing is to roll your clothes. In this blog we will outline how to roll all the different types of clothes you might have and some other packing tips to maximize the space you have.
The good and bad things about rolling vs folding
| Folding | | Pros | * There isn’t much effort required * Packing and unpacking is faster so it works better for outfits you will wear right at you arrive * Formal wear will hold its shape better when it is folded vs when it is rolled | | Cons | * Folded clothes are more likely to wrinkle/crease * Harder to dig around to find the pieces you need. If your luggage jugs around, chances are everything will move from its original position’ |
| Rolling | | Pros | * Saves space in your suitcase and backpack * Makes it very easy to grab what you are looking for in your luggage * Works very well with stretchy materials | | Cons | * It takes much more time rolling than folding * Some of the clothes will be hard to roll |
