In the place where I believed I would grow and thrive the most, I ended up being smacked in the face with a reality check, forcing me to realize that going into college I needed to lower my expectations and not worry so much about being the perfect version of myself.

Hudson Insolia, who I have been lucky enough to call my friend from the first day of high school to the first day of college, showed me how everything with a little change in perspective, has a purpose and an opportunity for growth.

He encouraged me to remember that you cannot control everything, but what you can control is who you are and what you choose to do with what life throws at you.
