Gary Drews is the President & Chief Executive Officer of 9Health Fair, now 9Health:365, in 2016 with the charge of building a program that enables preventive health access for ALL Coloradans. Previously, Gary has held positions as Executive Director of Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s health insurance exchange, CFO for the Colorado Health Foundation, and as Chief Operating Officer at Regis University. Gary is most proud though of his current work and the promise of 9Health:365’s preventive health impact.

Gary addresses the following questions:

Andrés Guerrero has worked at the Colorado Department of Health and Environment since 2009. He is currently the Overdose Prevention Unit manager in the Prevention Services Division. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in physiology and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the Colorado School of Public Health.

Andres discusses the following issues:

  • What is an opioid and why do some people get addicted to them?
  • Is opioid addiction treatable?
  • What precautions can I take to prevent addiction to opioids?
  • What should I do if I think someone is overdosing?
  • Tell us about the increase in overdoses that happened in the last year.
