Dr. Nicole Ehrhart is the Director of Colorado State University’s Columbine Health Systems Center for Healthy Aging and a Full Professor in Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. She holds the MD Limb Preservation Foundation University Chair in Musculoskeletal Biology and Oncology and is the Director of the Laboratory of Comparative Musculoskeletal Oncology and Traumatology.

Nicole tells us the various projects taking place at Colorado State University, specifically around Covid-19:

• CSU is very active in COVID-19 research and their Center has a large testing project in senior care facilities. Ehrhart shares what they are finding and what important lessons have been learned.
• The Center at CSU established a program to screen people for Covid early even though the people were asymptomatic in senior facilities. 15% of the tested people who were asymptomatic were positive.

Dr. John Douglas is the Executive Director of the Tri-County Health Department (TCHD) in Colorado, which serves Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas Counties and is the largest local health department in Colorado.

Prior to joining TCHD, Dr. Douglas served as Director of the Division of STD Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and Chief Medical Officer of the National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention at CDC.

John brings us up to date regarding the status of COVID-19 in Colorado.
