Murf and Jayla join our first guest, Dr. Josiane Broussard. Dr. Broussard is a scientist interested in the intersection of sleep and circadian rhythms and metabolic health. Receiving her PhD in Molecular Metabolism and Nutrition at University of Colorado with postdoctoral training in LA, Dr. Broussard currently studies the mechanistic underpinnings of insulin resistance due to insufficient sleep in part due to shiftwork at Colorado State University.

Dr. Broussard provide us with some guidance from these questions:

  • How much sleep do people really need?
  • Is too much sleeping bad?
  • Can you make up for lost sleep with daytime naps?
  • What about weekend catch-up sleep?
  • Can you train yourself to get by on less sleep?

Learn more about Dr. Broussard’s work if you google Sleep lab at CSU.
