The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies fears that the number of starving people in Southern Africa due to the drought may rise from 31-point-six million to 49 million people by the end of this year. Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi and Zimbabwe have all declared a state of emergency.
