Burundi's foreign minister Alain Nyamitwe, has denied that the country's human rights record is deteriorating, following an upsurge in arrests and civil unrest. Last week, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights described that bodies were being found in the streets of the capital "almost every day" - some showing signs of torture. The country has been wracked by unrest this year, after a failed coup. Protests began, when the president decided to seek a third term, which demonstrators said was an unconstitutional move.
