Recession fears grow. Inflation is impacting Americans. And it seems to be taking a toll.

According to a new Bankrate.com report, 57% of U.S. adults are currently unable to afford a $1,000 emergency expense. 25% would use a credit card to pay for such an expense.

KRLD's John Liddle talked with Bankrate.com senior economic analyst Mark Hamrick about what it means, and some tips on how to grow the money you are able to save.
