The state legislature passed property tax relief for homeowners in the last special session. That's because the state has a huge amount of money available from budget surpluses.

The state promised that teachers would get a piece of the action, but so far... they haven't seen much. The governor is promising another special session to deal with the problem of teacher pay and teacher pay raises.
But, as schools start... it's not happening yet.
