Springbok and Sharks wing Lwazi Mvovo says it will be important for the Durban based Super Rugby franchise to focus on their basics during the preseason and in the build up to their first Super Rugby game. The Sharks got back to training in Durban last week under the mentorship of new coach Robert du Preez. As a senior member of the Sharks squad now, Mvovo is eager to lend advice to the new faces in the team and also believes he can learn from the energy and enthusiasm of the youngsters. Mvovo fell down the pecking order of wings in the Springbok team after last year’s series against Ireland where he was dropped after the second Test match in Johannesburg but the Mthatha born wing says his focus is on doing well for the Sharks this season and not too bothered about regaining his place in the Springbok team. Mvovo says that there remains a winning culture at the Sharks in the same way it existed in the past with previous teams and that there are a lot of similarities with the hunger to succeed.
