The former Springbok hooker Gary Botha says that South African Rugby Union (SARU) must make the best decision for the sport, when they decide on who will become the next Springbok coach. Botha who was part of the Springboks World Cup winning squad in 2007, believes that former Stormers coach and World Cup winning Springbok assistant coach Allister Coetzee could be a good fit for the job and has urged all Super Rugby franchises to support the next man to replace Heyneke Meyer as coach of the national team. SARU released a statement yesterday the 31st of March 2016 re-iterating that the General Council will sit this morning in Cape Town to ratify the name of the chosen candidate to become Springbok coach and the announcement will only take place on the 12th of April 2016.
