Springbok team doctor Craig Roberts revealed that Springbok flank Francois Louw has undergone an operation to a disc in his neck to relieve pressure on a nerve in an injury sustained during the Springboks loss against the All Blacks two weeks ago in New Zealand. Louw underwent the operation and could be fit enough to participate in the Springboks end of year tour while Roberts also confirmed that scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar will miss the next two Castle Lager Rugby Championship Test against Australia and New Zealand because of a knee ligament injury also sustained in the Test against the All Blacks. Roberts though did confirm that Pienaar should be fit enough to be selected for the Springboks end of year tour to the northern hemisphere.
