Half-time Chat with Siv Ngesi is made just for you by BrightRock. In each episode Siv talks to prominent rugby personalities about their rugby journeys and how they deal with change in their lives.
Aimee Barrett-Theron is no stranger to being the only, and the first. Although she has two brothers, she is the only sibling to play rugby in the family. She is the first female referee on SA Rugby's Premier panel to officiate a Currie Cup First Division match. The former Springbok was inducted into the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series referee panel in 2016 and was also the only African women to referee at the Rio Summer Olympics that year. In 2017 she joined the World Rugby 15’s Panel.
Added to those accomplishments, Barrett-Theron is also married, a full-time biokineticist and has ambitions to referee Men's Test matches having officiated at the Women's Rugby World Cup and during the Women's Six Nations.
