It was on this day May 16th 1998 when SA champion body board surfer Neal Stephenson lost his leg in a shark attack at Keurbooms River, near Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape. There’s been a spate of other unfortunate shark attack incidents over the years before and after that here at home and across the globe.
