It is all system goes for the IBO junior-bantamweight showdown between champion Gideon Buthelezi and his Argentinian challenger Lucas Emanuel Fernandez, at the International Convention Centre in East London on Friday evening. Tuesday, the two were among 14 boxers who were given a clean bill of health at a pre-medical check-up ahead of the Xaba Promotions (XPE) bill. East London’s Yanga Sigqibo will face Filipino opponent Rene Dacquel in a vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) International junior-bantamweight title contest while another East London boxer Ntlantla Ngamntwini and Mexican Ulises Salvador Lara will clash for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental junior-bantamweight belt. Matiti is happy that boxers from Argentina, Mexico, Tanzania and the Philippines, who are already in East London, have also been declared fit for the tournament.
