Former IBO lightweight champion Xolisani “Nomeva” Ndongeni is leaving South Africa for the United States on a trip financed by former ANC treasurer-general Mathews Phosa. Nomeva will be trained by Luis Tapia after signing a four-year contract with the famous trainer. The unbeaten 27-year-old who is also former WBF International junior-light, SA junior-lightweight and national lightweight champion, is yet to discuss with his team as to which world title or titles he should go for once he settles in the US. Phosa also reveals why he decided to help Ndongeni through the Mathews Phosa Foundation.
