he star of Olympic silver medalist Luvo Manyonga continues to rise and shine on the athletics field. Earlier today Manyonga improved his own South African and Africa men’s long jump record when he leapt to a new record of 8.65m with his first jump in the final. He bettered his previous record that he set during the Athletics Gauteng North provincial meeting in Pretoria last month by 3cm. Last year Manyonga finished in a low position because of no jumps but this time he says he’s at another level. After breaking the record with his first jump, Manyonga who is currently carrying the world’s lead, stopped competing.
